RAWALPINDI: David Hemp, the Bangladesh batting coach, wanted his batsmen to stay resolute like they did in the dying moments of the second day’s play at the Pindi Stadium. In a post-match media talk, he declared that the wicket at the Pindi Stadium was good for batting.

“I am happy that our batsmen judged the 12 overs well at the crease late in the day. Such a time always gets the best out of you. They stayed firm at the wicket and returned back head high. Hopefully, they will continue to do the same on Friday morning with a better understanding of the pitch.

The track is a true batting wicket. Though there is some grass at the wicket, it looks harmless. It is all about batting well here.” He praised Pakistan’s pace bowling attack. “They have got some quality bowlers in their lineup, but I hope that Bangladesh’s batting lineup would make the best of the opportunity coming their way.”

Hemp dispelled the impression that Bangladesh bowlers could not get reverse swing. “On such grassy tracks, the element of reverse swing does not come into play.”
