Bilawal likely to meet PM today
Besides exchange of harsh words between two coalition partners on issue of power relief
ISLAMABAD: The meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected today (Thursday) at a dinner in which matters related to coalition, economic policies and overall political situation will come under discussion.
According to sources, it is expected that the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto will be held at the Prime Minister’s House at a dinner today (Thursday) in which matters related to coalition in the federal government and also in Punjab, besides exchange of harsh words between the two coalition partners on the issue of power relief, will also come under discussion.
According to the sources, during the meeting Bilawal will convey the party’s concerns and reservations on the PMLN government’s economic policies to the prime minister. PPP sources said the party was of the view that the government always made excuses about the IMF’s strict conditions whenever they talked about subsidies and relief for the people. “But will IMF not object to giving subsidy in Punjab?” the PPP questioned and added when it comes to Sindh then excuses were made about the IMF conditionalities. Bilawal will also propose a long-term solution to the issue of expensive electricity by using the abundant coal in Thar for cheap electricity. He will also convey the concerns of PPP over the non-implementation of written agreement in Punjab. On Wednesday, after reaching Islamabad from Karachi, Bilawal held a meeting with the leadership of PPP chapter of Central Punjab at the Zardari House. The meeting discussed the political situation and party’s organizational matters in detail.
