Tree plantation drive launched in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: Tehsil Municipal Administration on Wednesday launched a tree plantation drive in the city and its suburbs in collaboration with the Forest Department.
District and Sessions Judge Sadia Arshad formally initiated the drive after planting a sapling at a piece of land acquired for the construction of the New Judicial Complex.“If we want to pass on a precious gift to our offspring, we have nothing more valuable than that of a polluted environment for them and it could only be possible if we grow trees around us,” Arshad said. The judicial officers, tehsil municipal officer, president of the district bar association, representatives of the Forest Department and staff members of the district court attended the ceremony. Mazhar Muzafar Awan, the TMO, told reporters that the TMA would grow saplings in parks and roadsides in its jurisdiction in the city.
