NOWSHERA: A group of four Chinese cyclists, who were going to Afghanistan, were stopped by the cops manning a checkpost at Attock Khurd and were sent back to Islamabad given the threat alert as they did not possess the no-objection certificates (NOCs).

Though the Chinese cyclists had valid Pakistani vases, they did not possess the NOCs to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They were also not accompanied by any interpreter and were traveling without any security. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi took notice of the incident. However, he was informed by the District Police Officer of Nowshera Azhar Khan that the Chinese nationals did not have the NOCs so they could not provide them with security.

The cops manning a checkpost at Attock Khurd had stopped the Chinese tourists and asked them about the required travel documents. Though the Chinese cyclists had valid visas for Pakistan and Afghanistan, they did not possess the NOCs, which was a requirement in view of the threat alert to the Chinese nationals in Pakistan. The Attock Police had contacted the Nowshera Police to arrange security for the Chinese cyclists, who wanted to travel to Afghanistan via the Torkham border. The Nowshera Police sent an official to the Attock Khurd checkpost where he checked the documents of the Chinese cyclists, who did not possess the NOCs to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later, the Chinese tourists were sent back to Islamabad.DPO Nowshera Azhar Khan said that they had not received any correspondence from the federal government, therefore, they could not provide security to the Chinese cyclists.
