Personnel of the Pakistan Collectorate at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) have seized iPhone 15 and iPads worth millions of rupees.

Syed Irfan Ali, a spokesman for the Customs, said on Wednesday that a passenger named Muhammad Danyal Nasir, arrived from Dubai via Fly Dubai Flight FZ–333 at 10:40am. A team of Pakistan Customs at the airport foiled an attempt to smuggle mobile phones, laptops, fabric and chocolates, as the passenger was diverted by a Green Channel officer towards the Red Channel.

Standing near the scanning machine, a Sepoy asked him to go to the customs counter for examination. However, the passenger tried to run from the International Arrivals Hall, leaving his luggage behind.

A thorough examination of luggage led to the recovery of 29 iPhones (14 and 15) of assorted models, two HP laptops, unstitched fabric, chocolates, assorted cosmetics and four empty mobile phone boxes. The approximate value of seized goods is Rs7.5 million, and an FIR has been lodged.
