Islamabad:Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a modern 100-bed international hospital in Islamabad.
The healthcare facility, a joint venture of the National Police Foundation (NPF) and a Turkish company, aims to transform healthcare services for police personnel and the public, according to officials. They said the land for the hospital was provided by the NPF, while a Turkish firm would contribute Rs5 billion to fund the project.
The minister noted that the initiative represented a significant advancement in regional healthcare and a major milestone for the NPF, which had been revitalised under the leadership of MD Sabir Ahmed. He said the funds from the project and other NPF initiatives were dedicated to the welfare of police officers and the families of martyrs.
Naqvi announced that the NPF and the Capital Development Authority would collaborate on new projects, with discussions already in progress. He also said the NPF's work extended beyond Islamabad, including a completed housing project in Hyderabad and ongoing renovations at the National Police Academy.
