HYDERABAD: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Tuesday inaugurated the 281st Urs of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in Bhit Shah. He laid a wreath on the grave of the Sufi poet and said that because of poets and saints like Shah Latif, Sindh had always spread the message of peace, brotherhood and love.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Sindh Culture Minister Zulfikar Shah and Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani also paid their respects to the Sufi poet on the first day of his Urs.

Tessori said the people of Sindh were very lucky because they lived in a blessed land.

Speaking on the occasion, Kundi expressed gratitude to the Sindh culture minister for inviting him to attend the Urs celebrations of a great poet.

He urged all the institutions to work within their limits under the Constitution so that Pakistan could prosper.

He said it was not a good sign that institutions were competing with each other.

To a question regarding the controversy over forms 45 and 47, the KP governor said that this idea was deplorable that the elections that were held in KP were fair and transparent but in other provinces, they were not fair.

Earlier Kundi along with the Sindh culture minister listened to Shah Latif’s poetry.

On Tuesday evening, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani and Auqaf Minister Riaz Shah Shirazi visited the shrine and laid a wreath.

Talking to the media, Ghani said Bhitai's poetry was love and peace and its translations had also been available in many languages.

He said the Makhdoom family of Matiari and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were not separate.
