FAISALABAD: The Lyallpur Literary Council is set to host the International Lyallpur History Conference on August 26 and 27.

The conference will feature an opening session on the first day, followed by three thematic sessions, and four sessions on the second day. Historians, researchers, and social scientists from both Pakistan and abroad will participate in the event, says a press release.

The conference will explore a wide range of topics, including religious tolerance in Punjab, the dynamics post-migration and partition, revolutionary voices in colonial Punjab, labour movements, and the sectarian identity of Lyallpur.

Other key subjects include the cultural and social dynamics of Faisalabad, the transition of Lyallpur from the past to modernity, significant personalities, social dynamics and climate challenges in Punjab, cultural regional transition, and the literary politics of Lyallpur, as well as its architectural narrative.

Chairman of the Lyallpur Literary Council and renowned industrialist, Musadaq Zulqarnain emphasized that the conference aims to introduce the historical identity of Lyallpur to a global audience and advance research on its history and cultural heritage.

He highlighted that the purpose of this conference is to promote a global historical dialogue that transcends borders and ideologies. Musadaq Zulqarnain also expressed his desire to inspire future generations of historians to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and the advancement of historical knowledge through this event.
