ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, in view of some concerns over the performance of Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, Khalil Hashmi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, was called to Islamabad and asked for an explanation.

The ambassador presented his point of view on the issues that needed clarification before Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other officials. In this regard, the responsibilities of Director General of China Desk in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aamir Khan, have also been changed.

According to these sources, there is a possibility that the ambassador of Pakistan in China, Khalil Hashmi, may be changed but at present there is no suitable diplomatic personality available for this position.

When contacted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the ambassador to China had been called to Pakistan.

It should be noted that before the new agreement with the IMF and budget, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had visited China in the first week of June, during which he had meetings with high officials, including Chinese President Xi Jinping. Regarding this visit, no substantial results were achieved.

Meanwhile, Shahbaz Hussain, HR Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been transferred as Director General Europe.
