KP minister asked about facilities being provided in labour colony and challenges faced by its residents

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour, Fazal Shakoor Khan, stated on Sunday that deserving workers would get residential facilities in labour colonies.

“Cnoncrete measures are being taken to address the issue of illegal allotment of family quarters in labour colonies, with plans to vacate and reassign these facilities to the deserving workers,” he told reporters during a visit to the Labour Colony in Mardan..

Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, Provincial Assembly members Ikhtisham advocate and Abdul Salam Afridi and officials from the Labour Department were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, the provincial minister asked about the facilities being provided in the labour colony and the challenges faced by its residents. He instructed the relevant officers to take effective steps to resolve the issues and ensure the provision of basic amenities. He also warned that stern action would be taken against those failing to pay the wages fixed by the KP government.

Fazal Shakoor Khan also visited the Working Folks Grammar Higher Secondary School in Mardan, where he inspected various sections and laboratories. The principal provided a detailed briefing on the administrative affairs and issues faced by the school. The minister assured that immediate steps would be taken to address these issues. Additionally, he participated in a tree plantation drive by planting a sapling and instructed to ensure the protection of the newly planted trees.
