LAKKI MARWAT: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that most of the southern districts, including Lakki Marwat, as well as the merged districts were in the grip of lawlessness and terrorism but those at the helm of affairs were unable to bring the situation under control.

“The people aren’t satisfied with the performance of the rulers, the establishment, and bureaucracy. The armed groups have made life miserable for the people,” he told a ‘peace rally’ here.

The rally was attended by thousands of people belonging to various political parties, including JUIF, Awami National Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and others.

“I have a message for the rulers to end the drama of war on terror. The US does not want an end to terrorism rather it is the creator of terrorism,” he added.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said he had conducted successful talks with the Afghan government during his visit to Afghanistan but certain hidden forces converted the successful talks into a failure.

He termed the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz government as fake. “The fake government has come into being as a result of fraudulent elections. We have not accepted the results of the polls which were changed,” the Maulana said.

“The ground was being prepared to usurp the mines and minerals of the southern districts”, he said and warned that any such move would be resisted vehemently.

The JUIF chief said all the political parties, including JUIF, had developed consensus that they would not allow anyone to usurp their resources.

The Maulana alleged that the global powers wanted to do away with the economic strength of Pakistan and the projects with China were being scrapped under their pressure.

He said that India had gone far ahead on the economic front than Pakistan and even Afghanistan’s currency had strengthened against the dollar.

The JUIF chief flayed the Muslim rulers for their silence over the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

“Over 40,000 Palestinians have been massacred so far but the Muslim rulers are unable to utter even a word about the Israeli brutalities,” he added.

The rally was also addressed by the central secretary general of the party, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, and others.
