Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the reports of marriages of underage girls in Dadu.

According to a statement issued by the CM House on Sunday, the CM directed to Hyderabad commissioner to submit a report after investigating the instances of 45 girls married off at Khan Muhammad Mulla Goth in exchange for money.

The CM told the Hyderabad commissioner that the investigations must ascertain the social, economic, and legal causes behind such undesirable marriages. The commissioner was told to constitute an inquiry committee to look into the state of affairs at the goth.

The CM said the inquiry committee should ascertain whether or not the girls married off belonged to families affected by the floods of 2022. “If this is the case, how much assistance was provided to these families?” he asked.

He said the probe committee should ascertain the present circumstances of the married-off girls. The probe committee should look into every aspect of these instances to avoid the recurrence of such incidents.

The CM asked the commissioner to include his recommendations in the probe report to avoid such incidents in the future.
