LAHORE: The 10th day of the summer meeting at Lahore Race Club saw unexpected twists as underdogs Drago and Farhan Prince claimed surprise victories in the Monsoon Cup and August Cup, respectively, leaving favorites trailing in their wake.
In the Monsoon Cup, Drago defied the odds to clinch victory, delivering a shock to punters who had favoured Apache to lead the race. Apache settled for second place, while Pocket Wood also surprised with a third-place finish.
The August Cup followed suit with another major upset as Farhan Prince, not among the frontrunners, galloped to victory. National Color, a top contender, managed second place, with Fujairah taking third in a surprising turn of events. The day’s races kicked off with the favourite Gennie living up to expectations in the opening Swat Plate.
