LANDIKOTAL: Security forces conducted a search operation in the border village of Bacha Mina at Torkham border and arrested approximately 200 illegal Afghan nationals, sources said on Saturday. During the search operation, the Torkham border was closed. According to customs authorities, the crossing, which had been shut for pedestrian traffic, later reopened for trade activities, and cargo vehicles’ movement resumed. Customs officials said that the operation was initiated following intelligence about suspicious individuals in Torkham market and its surroundings. Security forces carried out a door-to-door search in the border village.
Most of those arrested were undocumented Afghans residing illegally in Pakistan. Officials stated that the detainees would be deported after their background checks.
