The Sindh government has directed all the education boards in the province to release the results of annual Intermediate examinations by September 15. The boards have also been told to put QR codes on certificates, mark sheets and admit cards.

Officials said Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani chaired a meeting of the chairmen of all the boards of the province in which important decisions were taken including holding the upcoming examinations in March and ensuring the use of OMR sheets from next year onwards.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi and Mirpurkhas Board chairman Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Hyderabad Board Chairman Ahmed Ali Brohi, Larkana Board Chairman Sikandar Mirjat, Sukkur Board Chairman Rafique Ahmad Palh and other officers were present in the meeting.

Boards and Universities Secretary Muhammad Abbas Baloch and Additional Secretary Abrar Ahmed Jafar were also present in the meeting.

Malkani said the Intermediate examination results should be out by September 15 and all the boards should ensure the use of OMR sheets in the upcoming exams. It was decided in the meeting that no private examination centre would be set up in the upcoming examinations. Malkani told all the board chairmen to prepare for the next examinations in March. He directed the secretary to write a letter to the education department to convene a meeting of the steering committee.

The minister directed all the board chairmen to put QR code on certificates, mark sheets and admit cards. He said the board chairmen would be responsible in case there was no QR code on the admit cards next year.

He also issued directives for preparing a centralised web portal of the department on which all the boards would be linked and monitored. He instructed all the chairmen to implement automation system in the boards and minimise human interference.

Malkani said all the boards should send the details of their financial situation to the finance department and solve the salary problems by getting the budget released.

He also ordered making preparations for redress of complaints received during the examinations. No mismanagement would be tolerated in the examinations, he said.
