Despite facing numerous barriers, the resilient Arshad Nadeem overcame all the obstacles and finally brought home a gold medal for his nation in the Paris Olympics. However, before winning the gold medal, Arshad Nadeem received little support from anyone. Now, the previously indifferent nation is celebrating his success and feeling proud. Instead of celebrating Arshad Nadeem’s success, the government and sports authorities should be ashamed about how small a role they have played in Arshad’s success. At one point, he was even struggling to acquire a new javelin.
Arshad Nadeem could have achieved even more if he had received timely support from the sports authorities and the current government but, unfortunately, this aid was not provided. As the nation basks in the glory of his success, it is imperative that the government and sports or authorities reflect on their past shortcomings and address the systemic issues that hinder the growth of future athletes. A genuine commitment to nurturing talent and ensuring equitable support is essential for achieving sustained success and improving the nation’s sports infrastructure.
