LAHORE: After Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rifts have also started to appear in Punjab PTI.
Punjab PTI President and former federal minister Hammad Azhar tendered his resignation after he felt that it was getting difficult for him to convey his concerns to party founder Imran Khan.
A day ago, in a surprising move, Hammad Azhar announced to resign from the Punjab PTI.
Along with Hammad Azhar, some key PTI figures including President Lahore Chaudhry Ashgar Gujjar, Secretary Lahore Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed and Parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Hafiz Farhat also resigned from their offices.
Hafiz Farhat has been replaced by another MPA from Lahore Ali Imtiaz Warraich.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well, initially Sher Afzal Marwat had developed differences with the party and later a member of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur cabinet also resigned over differences with the party high command.
