ISLAMABAD: The newly commissioned Pakistan Navy Ship HUNAIN, during its maiden voyage from Romania to Pakistan, visited Turkiye and participated in exercise EX TURGUTREIS-X with Turkish Coast Guard (TCG) ship GELIBOLU.

The exercise focused on Joint Maritime Operations to enhance interoperability between both navies, a spokesman of the Pakistan Navy said.

Earlier, the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) HUNAIN visited the Turkiye Naval ports at Golcuk and Aksaz.

The ship was received by Senior Officials of the Pakistan Embassy and Turkiye Navy.

During their stay at Golcuk, the Commanding Officer of PNS HUNAIN called on Turkiye Navy Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Kadir Yildiz and Commander of Golcuk Naval Base Rear Admiral Ali Tuna Baysal.

Professional and mutual interests for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the navies were discussed. During the stay at Port Aksaz, Commander 2nd Destroyer Squadron of Turkish Navy, Commodore Captain Cenk TASLI along with the Commanding Officer of TCG GELIBOLU visited the onboard ship and appreciated Pakistan Navy’s role in maintaining good order at sea in the region and beyond.

He added that the visit of PNS HUNAIN will strengthen brotherly relations, and diplomatic and defence ties between the two countries.
