‘Political stability vital for country’s uplift’

LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider on Friday visited the residence of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

During the meeting, parliamentary affairs and the current situation of the country was discussed. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed good wishes for governor. Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider said that everyone should play a positive role in development and stability of the country. He said that the coalition government should run successfully to bring political stability in the country, adding that political stability is vital for the economic development of the country. He expressed his determination to strengthen the relation between the federation and the Punjab province and play every possible role in the improvement of the province.

Governor appreciated the role of Speaker National Assembly in conducting the proceedings of the House impartially and smoothly. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the current parliament is committed to the welfare of the people and country through effective legislation. He said that close liaison between the federation and the provinces was key to overcome the challenges faced by the country.

Development projects inspected

LDA DG Tahir Farooq along with Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza conducted a site visit of several development projects. During their visit, the LDA DG and DC Lahore inspected the Ravi Bridge Expansion Project and the Controlled Access Corridor on Bund Road.

During the briefing, they were told that the Ravi Bridge Expansion Project is nearing completion, with finishing work currently underway. This project is expected to benefit over 250,000 vehicles daily and address long-standing traffic issues on a major city entrance. The expansion is anticipated to open for traffic soon.

Following this, LDA DG and DC Lahore visited the Controlled Access Corridor on Bund Road. They reviewed the completed service roads on both sides of the corridor. The construction of the Toll Plaza at Babu Sabu Chowk has also been completed and surrounding encroachments have been cleared to create a green belt.
