SUKKUR: A Pesh Imam of a mosque and a woman were gunned down over alleged charges of Karokari in District Naushahro Feroze.
According to Police, seven people have been nominated over the murders in which the accused charged the 25-year-old Pesh Imam who was also a Hafiz-e-Quran of Karokari. The victims were identified as Mushtaq Sial and the woman was described as 28-year-old Mst. Nusrat Kalahoro. The murders took place in the Village Din Muhammad Khalifo Katcha area of Kamal Dero near Tharo Shah in District Naushahro Feroze. Their bodies were brought by the Kamal Dero Police to the Rural Health Centre.
The victim’s brother Hafiz Imtiaz said his brother was innocent and had been teaching the Quran to the children of the village for the last couple of years and no one had ever made any complaint against him.
According to SHO Kamal Dero, the bodies were recovered from the Autaq where Hafiz Sial used to live. The police he said have registered an FIR 22/2024 against the brother-in-law of Nusrat Kalahoro, Zamir under sections 302, 311, 34 PPC. Six others including Sohrab, Sattar, Rajib and three unknown accused have also been named in the FIR, the police said.
