A full court reference was held on the retirement of Justice Kausar Sultana and Justice Rashida Asad at the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday.
Addressing the occasion, SHC Chief Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui paid rich tribute to the two women judges for their outstanding judicial services. He said both the judges were retiring from the high court after tremendous professional careers as more than 100 judgments of them had been published in journals.
He said that the services of both the judges would be remembered and their efforts for the rule of the law were appreciated by both the bench and the bar. Justice Kausar Sultana said she had learnt a lot from the senior judges and lawyers and also appreciated the judicial staff’s performance.
Justice Rashida Asad said she advised the women lawyers to face the difficulties as challenge. Sindh Bar Council Vice Chairman Kashif Hanif said the role of women judges in the dispensation of justice was extraordinary. He expressed the hope that women lawyers and judges would continue such contributions for the rule of the law and administration of justice.
Sindh High Court Bar Association President Rehan Aziz and Karachi Bar Association President Amir Nawaz Warraich also paid rich tributes to the two retiring judges for their remarkable judicial career both as judicial officer and judges of the high court.
