Every year, on the occasion of August 14, this confusion arises as to which year and day of independence this is. The debate is based on two viewpoints - whether the Independence Day should be counted from August 14, 1947, the day Pakistan achieved independence, or from the day it celebrated its first anniversary next year in 1948.

In my humble view, Pakistan is currently celebrating its 77th Independence Day in 2024, and its 100th Independence Day, to be celebrated on August 14, 2047 by the grace of God Almighty, is 23 years away from today.

The last number seven (7) of the year of our independence, 1947, has a special significance in various religions, including Hinduism. Its mystical aspects reflect wisdom, knowledge, strength, and self-realization. In Hinduism, the seven chakras along the spine are energy centers that influence physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. There are many holy places associated with the number 7.

According to ancient knowledge of numerology, also known as Ank Jyotish in Sanskrit language, the Angel number 77 is a powerful combination of mysterious number 7. It is directly associated with spiritual enlightenment, self-knowledge and inner-wisdom. Due to divine intervention, spiritual awareness, and mystical strength, number 77 brings a message of encouragement from the universe to protect and guide the people in the right direction.

Interestingly, 77 years of the end of British imperialism from our region are being completed in a year which is also the Year of Karma according to Hindu Vedic Astrology. In this year, every ruler has to reap the fruits of their past deeds. Most recently, Sheikh Hasina, who has been in power for a long time in Bangladesh, faced karma in a terrible way when young students came out on the streets against her dictatorship under the guise of democracy. On this occasion, Angel number 77 guided the people of Bangladesh with a message of self-realization, self-determination and self-awareness.

Similarly, at the time of Indian elections held a few months ago, analysts were very confident about the absolute victory of Narendra Modi. There was a common perception that the Modi-led BJP would not only revise the secular basis of the Indian constitution with an overwhelming majority in the Lok Sabha but would also be able to disturb the regional geography.

However, on the basis of Vedic astrology, I had predicted in advance that Modi will have to taste the fruits of his past deeds in the Year of Karma; the election results will surprise everyone including Modi; and the BJP’s dream of achieving a majority in the Lok Sabha will be shattered. Responding to the message of Angel number 77, people in India exercised their right to vote and today, surrounded by political allies, Prime Minister Modi is not in a position to move forward his radical agenda freely.

I believe that on the occasion of the 77th year of independence, Angel number 77 also brought a divine message about self-reliance, self-knowledge and self-awareness for the people of Pakistan. It is therefore our responsibility to follow the vision of Quaid-e-Azam in letter and spirit, provide equal opportunities to every citizen without any discrimination; and make serious efforts to move our beloved country in the right direction by utilizing our own resources. We also need to adopt a careful approach to heal the mistakes of the past, otherwise our destiny in the year of Karma is likely to be similar to that of neighbouring countries.
