One killed, another injured in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider sustained injuries when armed men in a car opened fire on them near Akbarpura Road late Monday night.
The injured Kalimullah told the police that he and his friend Haroon had given Rs9 million to the three accused Hassan, Hussain and Anas on the promise to help them get jobs. However, he said the three persons neither provided them jobs nor returned the money.
He said that on the day of the occurrence, the accused asked them to come to Jhagra village on the GT Road to resolve the issue through a jirga.
Kalimullah said he went to the hujra of the accused along with his friend, where they stayed until late into the night but the issue remained unresolved.He said the accused, who were traveling in a car, opened fire on them on the Akbarpura Road when they were returning from Jhagra village at night.
He said his friend Haroon was killed while he sustained injuries in the firing. The police registered the first information report under the relevant sections of the law and raided the houses of the accused but no arrests could be made.The body of the slain person was taken to the Mian Rashid Hussain Memorial Hospital in Pabbi.
