LAHORE : Massive increase in the prices of essential perishable has recorded this week as the increasing trend has been persisted alongside unabated overcharging which is making the life of the commoner miserable.
The authorities are in slumber on the sensitive issue of the food inflation which resulted in non-implementation of the official rates.
The district administration is directly responsible to control the prices of essential items and enforce the rate list. However, the chief secretary also didn’t take any action against the non-performing officers so these officers also least bothered to address the general public related matters.
This week price of chicken was fixed at Rs397-411 per kg, with an increase of only one rupee, but sold at Rs470-500 per kg and chicken meat by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs596 per kg, and sold at Rs620-1,000 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin unchanged at Rs80-85 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade at Rs70-75 per kg, and C-grade at Rs55-60 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs132-140 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs114-120 per kg, and C-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, mixed sold at Rs130-150 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs122-130 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs108-115 per kg, and C-grade at Rs95-100 per kg, mixed sold at Rs160-200 per kg.
The price of garlic local further increased by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs370-385 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, garlic local (red) by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs370-385 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic Harnai by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs410-425 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic GI variety by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China price was not fixed, sold at Rs1,000 per kg.
The price of Ginger Thai gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs580-600 per kg, and Ginger Chinese by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs595-615 per kg, both sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg.
Cucumber Farm was reduced by Rs10 per kg, unchanged at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, and cucumber local price was not issued, sold at Rs200 per kg.
Brinjal price was further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.
Bitter gourd further gained by Rs55 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs220-250 per kg. The price of Spinach farm further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.
Zucchini local was unchanged at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg. The lemon local further gained by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs460-475 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg.
Pumpkin was further increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg. Green chili price A-grade reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs120-125 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg, B-grade at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.
Capsicum price was unchanged at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.
Price of cauliflower was gained by Rs35, fixed at Rs160-165 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg, cabbage reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs17-195 per kg, sold Rs300 per kg.
Carrot Chinese gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg. Ladyfinger gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg. Lufa price was further gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs200-220 per kg. Turnip was unchanged at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples increased by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs125-400 per kg, sold at Rs200-600 per kg.
The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs145-150 per dozen, sold at Rs200-220 per dozen, and B-category by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs105-110 per dozen, sold at Rs150-160 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs74-78 per dozen, sold at Rs120-130 per dozen.
Guava price was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs115-170 per kg, sold at Rs240-320 per kg. Pomegranate desi was unchanged at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg.
Grapes Sunderkhani gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs375-390 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, grapes gold was fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
Peach price increased by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs150-285 per kg, sold at Rs250-400 per kg. Apricot Ameri was also gained by Rs160 per kg, fixed at Rs420-440 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg.
Mangoes of different variety gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs155-250 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.
Plum A-grade gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and B-grade by Rs45 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg.
