Fazl says Parliament has lost credibility
He said people voted for their favourite members but winners were others
MARDAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that the incumbent Parliament had lost its credibility as a result of, what he termed were fake elections.
Addressing the Kissan Convention, he said the people had no faith in this Parliament. He said the people voted for their favourite members but the winners were others.
The JUIF chief believed that the government had destroyed the economy. He argued that during the last 77 years, Pak-China friendship had developed into an economic partnership but the West wanted to destroy the country’s economic partnership with China. He said the enemies wanted to choke the economic growth of the country. He said China successfully transformed Pakistan into a trade route through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project but unfortunately our rulers failed to continue its partnership with China. The Maulana said the US forces withdrew from Afghanistan in disgrace after 20 years. “The US tried to establish its supremacy in Afghanistan, but was humiliated by the Afghans so it had to pull out its troops from there,” he argued.
The Maulana said the country should be run in accordance with the Constitution. “We want the unity of the country,” he said.
