LALAMUSA: Gujrat Deputy Commissioner Safdar Hussain has directed the District Emergency Response Committee (DERC) to implement strict surveillance on all dengue hotspots across the district. Chairing the committee’s meeting, the DC emphasized zero tolerance for negligence in preventing the spread of dengue.

He warned of strict legal action against individuals and entities harbouring dengue larvae in public or private areas. The DC urged citizens to cooperate by eliminating stagnant water and following dengue prevention guidelines, especially during the rainy season. All departments, including health, livestock, and municipal corporations, were instructed to conduct thorough dengue surveillance. The DC emphasized the importance of cleanliness in government offices and buildings and directed healthcare providers to promptly report suspected dengue cases.
