Man kills wife, father-in-law

GUJRANWALA: A man allegedly gunned down his wife and father-in-law over a domestic issue at Sabzi Mandi on Saturday.
Accused Qaisar and his wife Musarrat Bibi developed differences over some domestic issues. Later, the woman went to her parents’ house and started living with them. On the day of the incident, accused Qaisar went to her in-laws house and asked his wife to go with him but she refused. At this, the accused allegedly opened fire. As a result, Musarrat Bibi and her father Inayatullah sustained bullet injuries. They were rushed to the DHQ Hospital but they succumbed to their injuries. Sabzi Mandi police have registered a case.
YOUTH HELD: Police on Saturday arrested a youth for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl at Garjakh.
The girl was playing in a street when accused Rizwan took her in a field and allegedly tried to rape her. On her hue and cry, the accused fled. Later, Garjakh police arrested the accused and started investigation.
2 HELD WITH FIREWORKS MATERIAL: Garjakh police on Saturday arrested two people and recovered fireworks material from them.
On a tip-off, the police raided a house and recovered fireworks material besides arresting two accused. Meanwhile, DCO Muhammad Amir Jan has imposed ban on the use of crackers, fireworks and open fire in the air on the eve of the Shab-e-Barat.
