Hyderabad DIG orders security arrangements for Bhittai’s Urs

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Range deputy inspector general of police (DIG), Tariq Razzak Dharejo, has directed the Matiari SSP to ensure proper security arrangments for the upcoming Urs celebrations of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai that will start on 14th Safar.

He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting on law and order at Abbas Conference Hall on Friday. Hyderabad SSP Dr Farrukh Ali, Jamshoro SSP Muhammad Tariq Nawaz, Matiari SSP Syed Asghar Ali Shah, Thatta SSP Dr Muhammad Imran Khan, Sujawal SSP Dr Abdul Khaliq, Badin SSP Shiraz Nazir, Tando Allahyar SSP Abriz Ali Abbasi, Tando Muhammad Khan SSP Abid Ali Baloch, Hyderabad Range SP Compliant Tahir Ahmed Noorani and FIA Crime Circle Hyderabad Additional Director Syed Wasi Haider attended the meeting

At the beginning of the meeting, the FIA crime circle additional director gave a detailed briefing regarding anti-money laundering efforts. The Hyderabad DIG directed the SSPs in the meeting to ensure the arrests of the suspects involved in murders and other serious crimes, and expedite preparations of DNA, ballistic and chemical reports pending in their respective districts.

DIG Dharejo also ordered transfer of all the explosive materials in a warehouse to a safe place and sought a clearance certificate. He told the participants to have a crackdown on those dealing with narcotics, mainpuri, mawa, gutka, liquor and other prohibited items and take strict action against the black sheep in the police force involved in organised crime.

The meeting discussed police patrolling, technical sweeping, advanced intelligence collection, random snap checking and other security measures to prevent crimes and have absconding and wanted suspects arrested. The Hyderabad DIG also directed the SSPs in the meeting to establish a model police station in their respective districts.
