KARACHI: The 92.97 metre throw by Arshad Nadeem on Thursday pushed Pakistan ahead of India as none of Indian athletes have won a gold medal yet. Pakistan are 53rd on points table of Paris Olympics 2024, while India despite winning four bronze and one silver medal lag behind Pakistan on 63rd position.

As a general practice in Olympic rankings, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) prioritises countries based on the number of gold medals their athletes have won. If two or more nations have the same number of gold medals, the rankings are determined by the number of silver medals, followed by bronze medals if necessary.
