ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing and Construction has sought a report from the FIA on the ongoing inquiries against the officers of defunct Pak PWD.
According to sources, FIA inquiries are underway against nine officers of PWD on allegations of corruption and abuse of power. These inquiries were initiated during 2021 to 2024.
The officers against whom inquiries are underway include two chief engineers, one executive engineer and four assistant executive engineers. An inquiry was started against Chief Engineer Zaheer Ahmed in 2024 and against Chief Engineer Anwar-ul-Haq in 2023. Executive Engineer Hayat Murtaza is also being investigated.
An inquiry was initiated in 2023 against Assistant Executive Engineer Zaheeruddin M Babar, Shafiq-ur-Rahman and Sheikh M Siddique.
An investigation was initiated against Assistant Executive Engineer Miraj Khan in 2021. Two officers, Muhammad Sadiq and Sultan Rome, are also facing inquiries since 2023.
