NUST celebrates BRAINs of 2022-23
Islamabad:In recognition of the unparalleled commitment of its faculty to excellence in research and innovation, the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) conferred the Best Researcher and Innovator (BRAIN) Awards upon the high-performing researchers and innovators.
The distinguished awardees demonstrated exceptional capabilities in securing national and international funding, conducting cutting-edge research, producing high-quality publications, and creating impactful inventions during the academic year 2022-23.
The annual awards are a glowing tribute to the outstanding faculty for their ingenuity and impact on advancing knowledge and driving innovation in their respective fields. Federal Minister for Science & Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui graced the event as chief guest, and presented cash prizes and certificates to over 100 awardees in 108 different categories.
Extending his heartiest felicitations to the award recipients, the chief guest remarked that in an era where advanced research and innovation hold paramount significance, the outstanding contributions of the faculty are invaluable for their transformative impact on the society. He termed their meritorious accomplishments a great service to the nation and an inspiration for the future generations of researchers and innovators. He also reiterated his ministry’s commitment to support every initiative geared towards advancing science and technology in the country. Speaking at the ceremony, Lt Gen (r) Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector NUST, appreciated the award-winning faculty, whom he called the linchpin of NUST’s vibrant knowledge ecosystem. He said that these exceptional contributions of the faculty are a true reflection of NUST’s ethos that has consistently fostered a culture of academic rigour, innovation and paying back to the society.
He maintained that these awards reaffirm NUST’s commitment to strengthening a scholarly environment where research and innovation are nurtured and celebrated. He hoped that the pioneering works of these NUST luminaries would go a long way in furthering complex scientific enquires, finding innovative solutions to industrial problems, and, in so doing, contributing to national development.
