Islamabad:A married woman and her 18-year-old companion were brutally murdered in an honour killing in the outskirts of Islamabad. The assailants tracked them down to their hideout under the cover of darkness, beheaded them, and fled the scene. The tragic incident occurred between 2 a.m. on the night of August 6 and 7. The killers executed their task within minutes before making their escape. However, the police promptly responded, intercepting the vehicle used in the crime and arresting two individuals involved.
The victims were identified as Muhammad Shoaib, son of Qasim Gul, and P. Marjana, wife of Eid Badshah, residents of Tora Wari, Tehsil Tall, District Hangu. The alleged perpetrators include the deceased Marjana’s husband Eid Badshah, her brother Dil Badshah, and their father Dil Badshah.
SP (Sadar Zone) Hakim Khan confirmed the incident, stating that the police were informed between 2 and 2:30 a.m. and quickly arrived at the scene, setting up roadblocks to apprehend the fleeing culprits. Although the three murderers escaped under the cover of night, a suspicious vehicle was stopped at one of the checkpoints. Initial inquiries revealed that the killers had pursued Shoaib to Taxila, enlisted help from acquaintances there, and used their vehicle to reach the hideout.
SHO Shabbir Tanoli of Tarnol Police Station shared that initial information revealed Marjana had been married to Eid Badshah five to six years ago and was the mother of four children. She had been residing in Pind Parian for two to three years. While the exact nature of the relationship between the deceased 30-year-old Marjana and 18-year-old Shoaib was unclear, locals reported frequent disputes between the married couple. Recently, Eid Badshah had left Marjana, taking their four children back to Hangu, after which Marjana rented a separate room in the same area and allegedly called Shoaib to join her in Pind Parian. "As soon as Shoaib left for Islamabad from Hangu, the three accused began their pursuit, tracked down their hideout in Taxila, arrived at midnight, caught the couple in the act, beheaded them, and fled," revealed Shabbir Tanoli, based on initial investigations.
In another murder incident at G-8 Markaz, three private security guards, on their employer's orders, shot and killed a young man demanding repayment of a loan and injured his companion. Karachi Company police have arrested the three guards and their employer and have begun an investigation.
