Two labourers buried alive

LAHORE:Two labourers were buried alive under a large heap of soil during an excavation process on Chenab Road in LDA City, near Gajjumtta on Ferozepur Road on Tuesday.

According to reports, the labourers were engulfed by the soil while working leading to their entrapment. Emergency services were promptly alerted and rescue personnel

arrived at the scene to undertake the recovery operation. Despite their efforts, the rescue team was only able to recover the bodies of the trapped individuals. The victims were identified as Akhtar Umar, 25, and Mumtaz Umar, 27.

3 thieves held; cash, valuables seized

Defence A police arrested three thieves who had taken away valuables from the house of anchorperson Malik Tahir.

The accused were identified as Zafar Ali, Mudassar Nawaz, and Ali Ahmed. Police recovered 25 tola gold, Rs1 million cash, 2,300 dollars, 68 prize bonds, 13 watches, laptops, two mobiles, motorcycles, and two pistols from the thieves.

Man arrested for thrashing wife

A man was arrested for publicly thrashing his wife here Tuesday. During a Safe City Virtual Patrolling, an officer observed that a man was attacking a woman on Ichhra Road. The Safe City Virtual Women Police Station dispatched officers to the scene who arrested the man. The woman told the police that her husband suspected her character and assaulted her.

15 bodies buried

Edhi Foundation buried 15 bodies found in different parts of the City on Tuesday. Two each bodies were recovered from the limits of Mozang, Bhatti Gate, Civil Lines, Gujjarpura, Old Anarkali and Nawab Town police stations and one each from the jurisdiction of Mustafaabad, Harbanspura and Sabzazar police stations.

Murder accused held

The Punjab Police Special Operations Cell arrested an accused wanted for attempted murder when he arrived from Germany after deportation on Tuesday. The police detained Harman Zaman Bhutta who was wanted by City Jalalpur Jattan, District Gujrat, police since 2023.
