Cops donate blood for thalassemia patients
PESHAWAR: The Frontier Foundation Hematology Services arranged blood donation camps in Khyber and Karak districts to mark the Police Martyrs Day and pay homage to the fallen cops.
The camps were held at the Police Lines in Shahkas in Khyber tribal district and Police Lines in Karak where hundreds of personnel donated blood for the patients suffering from thalassemia, haemophilia and other blood-related disorders.
District Police Officer, Khyber, Salim Abbas Kulachi, and District Police Officer, Karak, Khankhel visited the respective police lines and praised the cops for donating blood for the thalassemia patients.
During their visit, the officials said that apart from working as a frontline force to combat terrorism, the cops were playing an active role in serving the ailing humanity as well.They said that police personnel would play an active role in donating blood for thalassemia patients
as well as arranging social welfare activities for needy people.
The Frontier Foundation Hematology Services Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem thanked DPOs Salim Abbas Kulachi and Khankhel for arranging blood donation camps in their respective districts.
He praised the cops for the spirit to serve the ailing humanity and save precious lives by donating blood.Giving details about his organization, he said that the Frontier Foundation Hematology Services was holding workshops, walks, seminars and conferences to raise awareness regarding blood-related diseases.
He said that genetic diseases like thalassemia, haemophilia and other blood-related disorders were spreading fast owing to the lack of awareness among the people.Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem said that their organization was striving hard to control thalassemia through awareness campaigns and provide treatment facilities to patients suffering from blood disorders.
