Rawalpindi:The District Price Control Committee expressed serious concern over price fixing, fines on small shopkeepers and the move to seal shops. The District Price Control Committee decided that in the first phase, Vice Chairman District Price Control Committee Khawaja Shehzad will consult with the traders along with his members. After which the future action plan will be prepared, says a press release.

In the second phase, meetings will be held with the Government Representatives to inform them of the actual facts. An emergency meeting of the members of the District Price Control Committee was held on Sunday. In which Salim Parvez Butt Patron General Grocery Association Punjab, Zahoor Bhatti President Flour Mill Dealers Association, Waqar Malik President Malik Association, Zaheer Abbas Abbasi President Poultry Retailers Association, Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry President Restaurants Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association, Mumtaz Ahmed Chairman Restaurants Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association, Huzaifa Yarmal Senior Vice President Bakers Association, Naeem Qureshi President Jamiat Al Quraysh, Khurshid Qureshi General Secretary Non Bai Association specially attended.

In the District Price Control Committee meeting, concern was expressed over price fixing, fines on small shopkeepers and measures to seal shops. For price control on behalf of the committee, the rates of raw materials in international markets, the prices of food items in local markets and the rates of wholesalers and retailers, to eliminate the gap between demand and supply, and to provide abundant supply of goods, etc. Actions are emphasised. The participants of the meeting said that the government seals the shops during the checking of small and general shopkeepers to show their performance. Whose income is not even 30 thousand rupees. They are being fined between 30,000 and 50,000 which is unacceptable. After the consultation in the meeting, it was decided that in this regard, Vice Chairman District Price Control Committee Khawaja Shehzad will consult with the business community along with his members to convey their message to the government people on behalf of the District Price Control Committee in the first stage.
