LAHORE: A German tourist was deprived of his valuables near Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, police reported on Saturday.
Berg Florian, 27, who travelled to Pakistan by bicycle, was camping near the airport when two armed men attacked him, stole his mobile phone, cash, and camera worth Rs500,000, and fled. Florian recounted that around 1:30 am on August 3, two men demanded cash. When he tried to escape, they assaulted him and took his valuable electronics. He described the attackers as two men with dark skin, beards, and heights between 175-180 cm. Florian’s 30-day visit visa for Pakistan expires on September 11. SP Cantt said that investigations have begun, with checks underway in the airport area and surrounding locations. CCTV footage and other evidence will be used to track the suspects. An FIR under Section 382 of the PPC has been registered.
