IGP attends premiere of film on KPO attack

Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon on Saturday attended the premiere of a film made upon the Karachi Police Office (KPO) attack.

Officials said IGP Memon, along with other police officers, including Karachi police chief Javed Alam Odho, watched the film with the public in a private cinema. The police officers and men who defended the KPO during the terrorist attack were specially invited to the premiere.

In the media talk, the IGP thanked Yawar Raza Chawla and his team who made the film on the efforts of the police, saying that such films should continue to be made.

Usually people do not know how the police work, and filmmakers will know that the police are always ready and this is the best way to reach the public for better police image, he said, adding that due to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the police department reached its goals today.

Meanwhile, Karachi Additional Javed Alam Odho visited “My Karachi Exhibition” at the Expo Centre.

Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala, President KCCI Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, Senior Vice President Altaf A Ghaffar, Vice President Tanveer Bari, Chairman Special Committee for My Karachi Exhibition Muhammad Idrees and others welcomed him on his arrival.

The city police chief appreciated the organisation of the exhibition by The Karachi Chamber during his visit to ‘My Karachi Exhibition’, and assured full cooperation with the business community for all such events.

He said that due to the efforts of the police department, the law and order situation has improved significantly, as a result of which the glory of the city has been restored to a great extent.

Although Karachi is still facing challenges due to street crime, the police department is making every effort to control the situation somehow, Odho said.

Moreover, the KCCI members also appreciated the efforts of law enforcement agencies, especially the police officers, who ensured foolproof security at the exhibition.
