KP CM woos Chinese experts for investment

NOWSHERA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur visited the Rashakai Special Economic Zone on Saturday, where he met a delegation of Chinese experts visiting Pakistan.

The discussions focused on enhancing mutual cooperation and investment opportunities in various sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Gandapur, along with his Special Assistant on Industry Abdul Karim Tordher, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, and officials from the Department of Industry and Federal Board of Investment and Trade, discussed strategies to promote Chinese investment in various sectors including agriculture, industry, tourism, and hydropower in the province.

The chief minister emphasised on the provincial government’s commitment to boosting external investment in these sectors and outlined plans to create employment opportunities and increase provincial revenue. He assured that the provincial government would welcome Chinese investment and provide all possible facilities to investors. He said that efforts are underway to improve the ease of doing business and provide affordable electricity to local industries.

He said the provincial government has established its own Grid and Transmission Company to facilitate the provision of cheap electricity and is encouraging foreign investment in transmission lines. The chief minister also assured adequate security for foreign investors working in the province.

The Chinese delegation noted the significant opportunities for collaboration and investment in agriculture, water resources, and industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and indicated that more delegations would visit the province to explore investment opportunities.

Earlier, the chief minister visited the industrial units established in the Rashkai Special Economic Zone and received briefings from the relevant authorities.
