Man kills daughter for honour
LAHORE : A man hammered his daughter to death for honour in Raiwind here on Saturday.
The incident reportedly was reported in Mission Colony. The suspect Nixon doubted the character of his daughter. He on the day of the incident was so infuriated that after exchanging a few harsh words he hammered her to death. The victim received serious injuries and died. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and were investigating the matter further.
Man arrested for harassing woman
A suspect was arrested by a Dolphin Squad officials for harassment of a woman in Iqbal Town on Saturday.
The suspect had been following, teasing and harassing a woman near a bus stand. The victim Salma called police and a Dolphin Squad team reached the spot and arrested the suspect.
He has been handed over to area police for further action. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.
Four found dead
Four persons including a woman were found dead in different parts of the areas on Saturday. A 30-year-old man was found in the limits of Islampura police station. The deceased was a drug addict. A 55-year-old man was found dead near the railway gate, Kot Lakhpat. The body of a 19-year-old drug addict was found in South Cantt police area. Meanwhile, a woman was found dead in a house in Omar Block, Gulshan Iqbal. The bodies were shifted to the morgue.
Speeding vehicle kills boy
A 12-year-old boy was killed after being hit by an unknown speeding vehicle in Raiwand City on Saturday.
The boy was on his way to fetch fodder for cattle when the speeding vehicle struck him from behind, causing severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The body was moved to the morgue, and the police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the suspect.
Performance reviewed
CCPO Lahore presided over a meeting at his office to review the performance of the Investigation Wing. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of pending case challans and ensuring their timely completion. CCPO said that wrongful arrests of innocent individuals would not be tolerated and instructed supervisory officers to review the performance of Investigating Officers (IOs) on a daily basis. Divisional SPs, DSPs, and In Charges Investigation attended the meeting.
Road accidents
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,313 road accidents in all districts of Punjab. In these road accidents, 11 people died, whereas 1,424 were injured. The statistics showed that 312 road accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 353 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by Multan 87 in with 92 victims and at third Faisalabad with 86 road accidents and 83 victims.
