Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said last week that the tax increase for the salaried classes and the business community was a temporary measure and cannot be repeated again and again as these segments are already overburdened. One can simply think of Mirza Ghalib's couplet:
"It's false I live in hope, Of promise made by you/For would not I die of joy, If I thought it to be true".
