ISLAMABAD: Shafqat Abbas, a Grade 20 officer of the Information Group, has been appointed as the Director General of Regional Office of Press Information Department, Provincial Capital, Punjab.
This appointment of Shafqat Abbas has been made for an indefinite period. He has previously served in senior positions in the sub-departments and institutions of the Federal Ministry of Information. He has worked as Director Home Publicity in PID Islamabad, Deputy Director General Information Services Academy and Joint Secretary in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Shafqat Abbas has held the responsibilities of Public Relations Officer with former PMs Shaukat Aziz and Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani while he has also held responsibilities as Director Personal Staff Officer in the Office of the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. He has been serving as Director General in the Press Information Department, Lahore.
