The Karachi Traffic Police on Friday issued a traffic diversion plan for the Jamat-e-Islami’s (JI) protest sit-in that the party wants to stage outside the Governor House on Saturday (today).

Officials said the political party had announced a protest near the Governor House on Aiwan-e-Sadr. Aiwan-e-Sadr will be closed for traffic from Fawara Chowk to Governor House Gate No. 1 termorarily. The motorists have been advised to choose alternative routes in the meantime so that they can easily reach their destinations.

The traffic coming from II Chundrigar Road, Shaheen Chowk, will not be allowed to go from Ziauddin Road, Khajur Chowk, to Aiwan-e-Sadr. This traffic will be able to go from the PIDC Chowk, Club Road, on the left side from Metropole to Clifton or Sharea Faisal.

The Jinnah Bridge (Native Jatti) will be under traffic pressure from Sultanabad to the PIDC, so it is requested to take the route from the Sultanabad Traffic Section to Mai Kolachi, Boat Basin. The public can contact the Traffic Police Helpline 1915 for guidance.
