Extortionists send coffins to property dealer

PESHAWAR: Police have lodged a case and started an investigation after extortionists sent coffins to a real estate dealer based in the limits of Faqirabad Police Station.
The police said two coffins were delivered by auto rickshaw to the property dealer along with a threatening letter demanding Rs20 million. The letter warned of severe consequences if the payment was not made.Reports said that the family had been receiving extortion calls for several days, and there was a recent incident of gunfire directed at the family head’s office.
In the past few years, numerous individuals have received extortion calls and letters. Police are struggling to combat the gangs involved, and several accused have been apprehended in recent months.
