LAHORE:Police service counters issued 2,452 medico-legal certificates in July. Spokesman for Lahore Police stated that the counters at General Hospital issued 463 certificates, Jinnah Hospital 330, Services Hospital 262, Mayo Hospital 134, Ganga Ram Hospital 90, Mian Munshi Hospital 251, Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital 290, Nawaz Sharif Hospital 70, Rural Health Centre Burki 116, Awan Dahiwala 135, Manga Mandi 100, Raiwind 114 and Rural Health Centre Chuhng issued 82 certificates last month. Additionally, 596 police personnel and their families received medical treatment assistance.

Virtual Women Police receive over 60,000 complaints

The Virtual Women Police Station has received over 60,000 complaints from women across the province in 100 days. According to a Safe City released report, more than 60,000 women filed complaints across the province and investigations are underway on 4,143 cases. The relevant authorities have issued instructions to expedite 1,137 cases. The report says FIRs have been registered on 4,083 cases filed by women, 935 cases are about domestic disputes, 309 for harassment, 460 for sexual assault, 157 for attempted murder, 9 for acid attacks, and 2,292 for other reasons. The report added 51,768 cases were resolved due to reconciliations between parties involved.

Cops listen to citizens in mosques

Following the directives of the Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, the Regional Police Officers (RPOs), the District Police Officers (DPOs) and other senior police officers visited local mosques across the districts after Friday prayers and listened to citizens’ issues.

Earlier, the IGP asked cops to use mosques to listen to citizens' issues at their doorstep and ensure timely justice to them. He advised them to inform citizens about modern services and facilities available for them by the police.
