KARACHI: Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal has advanced to the semifinals of the Bega Open Squash tournament in Australia. In a dominating quarterfinal performance, Iqbal defeated Japan’s Tomo Endo in straight games, with scores of 11-4, 11-7, and 11-7. This victory sets the stage for a semifinal clash against Switzerland’s Robin Gadola, who had earlier defeated top seed Noor Zaman in the second round.
Iqbal has been in outstanding form this year, consistently delivering strong performances in various tournaments. This is his fifth consecutive semifinal in Australia, having won three of his four previous tournaments. The Bega Open Squash tournament boasts a total prize money of $12,000.
