ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to NAB on the petition against the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana’s new reference and asked for a reply by August 8.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb asked if it was true that he was not joining the investigation as NAB had asked him for a jewelry set before but he did not hand it over to the NAB and even now he was not giving the gifts to the Bureau. The judge further said that he was doing a very risky thing as he should also prove his good intentions.
IHC Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition against the arrest of PTI Founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the new Toshakhana case.
Counsel Intizar Panjotha said that earlier punishment was given in Toshakhana case but now a new case had been made as the arrest of the accused was illegal and both are on physical remand.
Presenting the charge sheet filed in the old reference against the PTI founder before the court, he said that all 108 gifts were mentioned in the charge sheet of the first conviction. Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that case was only to the extent of graft jewelry. “You should also prove your good intentions,” he said. The court issued notice to NAB and asked for reply by August 8.
