Karachi crush Multan by ten wickets
KARACHI: Left-arm spinner Mohammad Taha took ten wickets in the match as Karachi pulled off their third win when they defeated Multan by ten wickets in the Pepsi-PCB Stars Under-16 two-day tournament here at SBP Sports Complex Ground on Friday.
Karachi chased the 25-run target in 6.1 overs without losing any wicket.
After having conceded an 81-run lead, Multan perished for 103 in their second innings.
Taha, who had taken 3-21 in their first innings, grabbed 7-8 in 9.1 overs to destroy Multan’s batting.
Multan had scored 125 in their first innings. In response, Karachi had piled up 206 all out.
Lahore and Peshawar are the other teams who have also qualified for the final three-team round which will begin with the game between Peshawar and Lahore on May 23 at Faisalabad.
Karachi will meet Peshawar in their first outing of the round on May 26. The top two teams of the triangular phase will clash in the final to be held at Lahore from June 1-3.
