Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon conducted a review meeting on Thursday to assess the progress of investigations into the cases of martyred and injured police personnel this year.

Officials reported that the meeting was attended by the Karachi police chief, DIGs of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Investigation and Crime Branch, Headquarters, and the East, West, and South Ranges of Karachi, as well as AIGs of Admin and Operations. SSPs and SPs from Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabad, SBA, and Mirpurkhas joined via video link.

During the meeting, the range DIGs of Karachi and other police range DIGs provided updates on the investigations into cases involving martyred and injured police officers in their respective districts. The investigations revealed various factors contributing to these cases.

IGP Memon requested detailed information regarding a recent attack on police personnel in the Ghotki district. He emphasised that the Counter-Terrorism Department should handle investigations into the cases of martyred policemen and stressed the need for extraordinary measures to apprehend those responsible for these killings.

Memon directed that intelligence-based and combing operations be intensified to capture the suspects named in these cases.
