Once again, the summer vacations have been extended by two weeks and students will now resume their studies in mid-August. The excuse presented for this extension is the monsoon rains and heatwaves. Most parents have already been charged the full fees for June and July and are unlikely to get a reduction for August. This sorry state of affairs is down to the poor management of the schools and the provincial government.
How will students catch up on all the lessons they are missing? It is the same episode we see almost every year. I request the concerned departments to cancel the extension of summer vacations and issue an order to reopen the schools from August 1.
