JOHANNESBURG: German Michael Nees was named coach of struggling Zimbabwe on Tuesday by the national football association.
“We chose Michael because he has a deep knowledge of the African football landscape,” Zimbabwe Football Association caretaker boss Lincoln Mutasa told reporters in Harare. Nees inherits from acting coach Jairos Tapera a team lying last in a 2026 World Cup qualifying group with just two points from four matches after defeats by Lesotho and South Africa last month.
